Cookie policy

Cookie policy

This policy explains how this website uses cookies and similar technologies, in line with the DPDP Act, 2023 and good practice for a site operated from India.

Effective 19 August 2026. Last reviewed 19 August 2026. Governed by the laws of India.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. They can be essential to run a site, or used for analytics or preferences.

2. Who is responsible

Swayam Community is the Data Fiduciary for cookies we set. Third parties that set their own cookies, if any, are responsible for those cookies under their notices.

3. Types we use

At present, this website is intended to use only cookies and similar storage that are strictly necessary to operate, secure, and display the site (for example, to keep a page session working or to remember a security setting).

We do not currently use advertising cookies. We do not currently use third-party analytics cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated, and where the DPDP Act requires consent for that purpose, we will obtain it before using those cookies.

4. Strictly necessary cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are used to provide the service you requested: loading pages, maintaining security, and storing information that the site cannot function without. These do not require consent under a purpose-limitation reading of the DPDP Act, because they are needed to provide the website itself.

5. How you can control cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website may not work.

Where we introduce non-essential cookies, we will provide a way to refuse them without blocking essential operation of the site.

6. Duration

Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies, if used, last only as long as needed for their purpose. We will not keep cookie data longer than needed for that purpose.

7. Personal data

If a cookie or similar technology involves personal data, the Privacy notice applies, including your rights as a Data Principal.

8. Changes

This policy is effective from 19 August 2026. Updates will be posted on this page.
